Keith Freier is a recognized leader in the field of project and program management, with thirty-five years of progressive experience implementing disciplined project management and technology solutions on a variety of engineering, construction, research, and technology development projects. He has demonstrated success implementing scalable and effective project management systems and processes to maximize project success and has effectively influenced institutional change to promote an effective graded approach to project management in a variety of technical domains.
Keith has demonstrated impactful leadership in a variety of professional capacities throughout his multi-faceted career as a project professional. In his thirty-year tenure at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, he provided strategic technical leadership as Director of the Operational Systems & Technology Division within the National Security Directorate, providing oversight to nearly 400 staff representing a variety of science, engineering, policy, project management and operational disciplines. He also demonstrated successful leadership as Acting Chief Operating Officer for National Security, Project Management Office (PMO) Director, Market Sector Director, Technical Group Manager, and manager of multiple complex research and operational projects and programs. Keith served as founder, senior advisor, and lead instructor for PNNL’s Project Manager Development Program (PMDP), a two-year leadership and staff development program designed to develop the next generation of successful project managers at the Laboratory.
Keith has served in a variety of project management professional advisory roles including Co-Chair and Founder of AACE International Interim Cost Consultant (ICC) Certification Program, past member of the AACE International Certification Board, and past Chairman of Education Committee for AACE International Rattlesnake Mountain Section. He was the recipient of the AACE International O.T. Zimmerman Founder’s Award in 2003 and Project Management Institute (PMI) Distinguished Project of the Year Award in 2010.
Keith began his career as a project control engineer for a worldwide engineering and construction firm involved in environmental restoration and the construction of industrial and nuclear facilities. In his personal time, Keith enjoys home remodeling, home brewing, being outdoors with a fly rod in his hand, and spending time with his granddaughter.
Ann Nash is a widely recognized leadership consultant specializing in leadership formulation and the development of next-generation leaders. Fascinated by people and their stories, Ann has dedicated a career to teaching adults how to better understand themselves and their impact on others. Her experience has taken her from delivery of traditional training in diversity awareness and sexual harassment to designing three-time award winning corporate university leadership programs at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Recently she has applied her experience and expertise working with professional teams to increase their creativity and innovation and translating that into actionable cutting-edge strategies. She believes that people learn best when they are engaged, having fun, and comfortable with each other.
Ann has over 30 years of experience in leadership and team development, succession planning, and program design and implementation. She has been with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since 1989 and has held a variety of roles in Human Resources including being the program lead for the Project Manager Development Program, Advanced Leadership Program, and the Emerging Leader Program.
Ann has extensive experience developing professional leaders in a variety of industries including research and development, nuclear energy, higher education, non-profits and sales. Relevant certifications include Leadership Development Certification through Linkage, Inc., Master Trainer for Social Styles, Managing Transitions, Emotional Intelligence EQ in Action, Crucial Accountability, and Prosci Change Management.
